Liverpool’s miserable form continued with a 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven – and with only seven games left in 2025, Arne Slot‘s win rate for the entire year is shocking.
Slot’s status as Liverpool head coach appears at crisis point, with a growing consensus that the Dutchman’s position is becoming untenable.
There are a number of factors which work against the idea of the Premier League champions parting ways with the 47-year-old, but the evidence is damning.
Not least that throughout the entirety of 2025 so far, Liverpool have a win rate of just 51 percent.
Arne Slot’s record in 2025
• Played: 49
• Won: 25
• Drawn: 6
• Lost: 18

Even if Liverpool were to win all of their remaining seven games in 2025 – against West Ham, Sunderland, Leeds, Inter Milan, Brighton, Tottenham and Wolves – the win rate would only rise to 57 percent.
The Reds have lost 18 of their 49 games this year, meaning a loss rate of 36.7 percent.
Nine of those defeats have come in the last 12 games, only increasing scrutiny over Slot’s performance, but the issue arguably began in March.
A penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain is widely viewed as a turning point for Liverpool’s head coach, who has been vocal in his desire to emulate Luis Enrique’s trophy-laden side.
Where it went wrong: Slot’s post-PSG decline

But in 30 games since that loss to PSG, Liverpool’s win rate has dropped even further to 46.7 percent.
Their record following that night at Anfield reads:
• Played: 30
• Won: 14
• Drawn: 2
• Lost: 14

That does, of course, include Slot’s longest winning run of the year, with Liverpool claiming seven successive victories at the start of the current campaign.
But that also required stoppage-time winners against Newcastle, Burnley and Atletico Madrid, while they left it late against Arsenal in the league and Championship side Southampton in the Carabao Cup as well.

Slot’s record as Liverpool head coach is now:
• Played: 76
• Won: 48
• Drawn: 9
• Lost: 19
That means a win rate of 63.2 percent since taking over as Jurgen Klopp‘s successor – which is only marginally better than Klopp’s 62.2 percent win rate throughout 489 games as Liverpool manager.
It should be stressed, however, that Slot’s record in charge of Liverpool is second only to John McKenna, who took charge of 36 games in the 1895/96 season and won 69.44 percent of those.
But while a wider perspective will be required if or when the club’s hierarchy consider the future of their head coach, Liverpool’s sustained run of dreadful form cannot be ignored.
