Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank is hopeful Randal Kolo Muani can kick on after his performance against Paris Saint-Germain.

The forward was on the scoresheet twice in the team’s 5-3 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night. Kolo Muani is on loan at Spurs from the European champions but was able to play against his parent club in line with UEFA rules.

The 26-year-old has struggled for form and fitness since making the move to Tottenham, although he offered the first major glimpse of his talent at the Parc des Princes.

Speaking after the game, Frank said Kolo Muani can take heart from his two-goal display.

"I think today we saw what hopefully we can expect from Kolo Muani," he said.

"I think even two goals and an assist every game is probably too much! I would love to get that every single game, but as I said, he came in late with no preseason, not top fit, had two setbacks, especially with the dead leg and then the broken jaw. He's still not top fit, so hopefully he'll kick on even more."

When Kolo Muani joined PSG in 2023, he was rated as one of the best young prospects in European football.

However, he failed to thrive after an £80 million move and was sent out on loan to Juventus last season.

There is competition for places in attack for Tottenham, with Richarlison and Mathys Tel also options. Dominic Solanke is currently sidelined and is still waiting for his Spurs career to ignite after a £55 million transfer from Bournemouth in 2024.

Frank used a two-man strike partnership against PSG, which seemed to bring the best out of Kolo Muani and Richarlison. It will be intriguing to see whether it’s an attacking setup he persists with when Fulham visit Spurs in the Premier League on Saturday.
