The Green Bay Packers are on the cusp of getting wide receiver Jayden Reed back.
Reed suffered a broken clavicle in Week 2 that required surgery and landed him on injured reserve. Reed also had surgery for the foot problem that plagued him in the offseason, so he'll be fully healthy upon his return.
And that return is coming soon, as the Packers designated Reed to return from injured reserve last week, which enabled him to get back on the practice field.
Here's the latest on Reed's expected return timeline.
Is Jayden Reed playing today?
No, Reed will not be making his return in Week 13, as he wasn't activated off injured reserve ahead of the Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions.
It's not surprising, though, as Reed was out for an extended period of time and will need more practice reps to get re-acclimated before returning to the field.
When is Jayden Reed coming back?
The Athletic's Matt Schneidman has surmised that Week 14 is a realistic return date for Reed.
"Highly doubt Reed would play after one practice following two and a half months off," Schneidman explained last week. "(The Packers) don’t practice officially next week before the Thursday game, either. Week 14 vs. Chicago seems more likely, but we’ll see."
Bear in mind, the Packers have 21 days to activate Reed off injured reserve or else he has to miss the rest of the season.
That means they don't have to bring him back next week, so there is a chance we don't see him until Week 15.
Whenever he gets back, Reed is likely to be limited when it comes to his workload, as the Packers will want to ease him back in after such a lengthy absence.
