Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed some positive injury news on Alisson Becker, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike with all three possibly fit for the weekend's match. Liverpool are back in action on Sunday when they travel to take on West Ham United in the Premier League.
The Reds will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of the last three games. Slot's side fell to a 4-1 home defeat against PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
That game saw Hugo Ekitike forced off with injury. The forward was replaced by fellow summer signing Alexander Isak on the hour mark
He joined midfielder Florian Wirtz and goalkeeper Alisson as injury worries. But Slot has delivered good news on all three ahead of the team's return to action.
"Alisson trained with the team, we hope and expect him to be fit," he said in his pre-match press conference. "Florian will have final rehab day tomorrow, so could train on Saturday if all goes well.
"Hugo, today was recovery but they don't expect it to be a big issue. Let's see, games come fast but it shouldn't be an issue."
The defeat against PSV was Liverpool's third in a row, following last weekend's 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. The run of form has seen the Reds lose five of their last seven games in all competitions.
In the Premier League, they are currently on a run of six losses in their last seven games. It has piled pressure on Slot, despite the team's success last season.
When asked if he has spoken to sporting director Richard Hughes since Wednesday night's loss, he said: "We had the same conversation since I've been here.
"I'm not sure if I said last night, but we fight on try to improve. The conversations have been the same as for the past one and a half years."
When asked if he feels let down by his squad, he said: "No, not at all. Although I do agree with you that out standards have not been up to the standards that we're used to and we want. But last year when we did really well there was a focus on certain individuals, but I've always said it's about the group."
