'I don't know': Paul Merson has concerns about Newcastle United as he predicts who will win on…

**Newcastle United are gearing up for another Premier League away day as they are set to face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday at 5:30pm live on Sky Sports.**

Eddie Howe will be hoping his side can register their first away win of the season, but Everton are having a decent season, particularly at their new stadium, so it's not going to be an easy afternoon for Newcastle.

The away day hoodoo will be on the Newcastle players' minds no matter how much they insist it isn't, and after going ahead only to lose their last three away games in a row, nerves are going to be high on Saturday.

We're not going into this one with a great deal of confidence, and Paul Merson certainly isn't helping.

Newcastle will make their Hill Dickinson debut on Saturday

Paul Merson is predicting another bad day for Newcastle on Saturday

-------------------------------------------------------------------

In his prediction for [Sportskeeda](https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/news-paul-merson-predicts-chelsea-vs-arsenal-premier-league-gw13-fixtures), Paul Merson says he doesn't know what is wrong with Newcastle. Neither do we, Merse.

> "I don't know what's up with Newcastle. They play like they did against Manchester City and in the next game they lose to Marseille, despite taking the lead! Newcastle's away form in the Premier League has been quite poor and they next face Everton on Merseyside. This is a tough game coming up for Newcastle, no doubt about it."Everton were outstanding against Manchester United. I know United produced a rotten display, but you have to tip your hat to Everton for scoring with 10 men and securing that win away from home. David Moyes won't be too worried about the Idrissa Gueye incident with Michael Keane, which led to the midfielder's red card. As a manager, you secretly want that fight between players. When I was playing, these fights used to happen in every training session! If I were a manager, I wouldn't mind my players pushing each other like that."But it was still the right decision to send Gueye off. These players are huge role models to kids across the world. If he walked away without any punishment, then kids would start doing the same in their games on Sunday mornings. That's why it was important to set an example by taking action against Gueye."Everton look like a much-improved side and don't sit back and play defensive football anymore. Newcastle have won just one game away from home this season and I don't know how I can back them in this game.

> "**Prediction**: Everton 2-1 Newcastle United"

Will Newcastle score first again?

---------------------------------

We wonder if the goal that Merson predicts us to score will be the first of the game, as that seems to be our thing, scoring first and throwing it away.

At some point, the trend has to stop, and hopefully we can buck it on Saturday. There has to come a point where our season gets back on track.

I'm really not looking forward to this one at all.
