Dawgs in the NFL: Giving thanks, especially for MVP leader Matthew Stafford

Happy Thanksgiving, Dawg Sports readers! I hope today is filled with lots of food, family, friends, and, the most important F, football. Our Georgia Bulldogs have given us a lot to be thankful for this season, as they sit at 10-1 and are on their way to their fourth College Football Playoff berth in the past five seasons. We are also grateful for the great accomplishments of our favorite Dawgs of yesterday who are competing at a high level in the NFL.

While you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast, you can also watch several former Dawgs play in all three Thanksgiving games and the Black Friday matchup, including Devonte Wyatt, George Pickens, Amarius Mims, and a host of Philly Dawgs.

Continuing with NFL Dawgs, as has been written many times in these columns, Matthew Stafford is having arguably the best season of his career at the ripe old age of 37. So far, the current Los Angeles Rams starter leads the league with a staggering 30 touchdown passes and just two interceptions. He is also among the best in the league in QBR and completion percentage.

On Sunday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he once again proved why he is the best quarterback in the league with a 25-for-35, 273-yard, and three-touchdown performance, ultimately helping the Rams route the Bucs 34-7.

Speaking of Devonte Wyatt, he had one of the best games of his career on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. On a day that saw Green Bay sack quarterback JJ McCarthy five times, Wyatt and Micah Parsons led the team with two sacks each. The Packers went on to cruise to victory over the Vikings 23-6. Wyatt was highlighted by the Packers’ weekly “Rock Report.”

Again, I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. Spend some time with the ones you love, and tune in next week to read about what some of your favorite Dawgs did in the latest week of the NFL.
