Liverpool returned to Champions League action on Wednesday night, however, they suffered a disappointing 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield, increasing the pressure on head coach Arne Slot.
The Reds have now lost nine of their last 12 games in all competitions, their worst run since the period between November 1953 and January 1954.
The defeat was also their second heavy loss in the space of a week, following a dismal 3-0 reverse against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Despite their struggles on the pitch, Liverpool continue to be active in early transfer discussions ahead of the January window, with the club linked to several attacking talents.
Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has emerged as a target after an impressive start to the Premier League season.
The Ghanaian international has recorded six goals and three assists in 11 league appearances, attracting interest not only from Liverpool but also from Manchester United.
Meanwhile, the Premier League champions have ruled out a move for Michael Olise in the near future.
In Italy, Federico Chiesa is reportedly attracting interest, with AS Roma, Napoli, Inter Milan, and AC Milan all weighing up potential January moves for the former Juventus winger.
Another emerging name is RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouedraogo, one of Germany’s most exciting young prospects.
According to Sport Bild, Liverpool, alongside Arsenal and Barcelona, have recently scouted the 19-year-old in person.
Leipzig value Ouedraogo at around €100million, with the teenager featuring in all 12 Bundesliga matches this season.
He earned his first senior Germany cap during the November international break, scoring on his debut in a 6-0 win over Slovakia.
His rise has momentarily slowed due to a left hamstring tendon injury, confirmed by Leipzig.
With his contract running until 2029 and the German club unwilling to negotiate mid-season, any pursuit is likely to be long and expensive.
Even so, interest remains strong, with Ouedraogo expected to return within weeks and his market value predicted to soar in 2026.
