Chicago Bears to activate Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears will be getting some reinforcements for their postseason push as both Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon will be activated from injured reserve today. The move hasn’t been made official, but once it is, we’ll update this article with the full list of transactions.

Chicago defensive coordinator Dennis Allen now has plenty of experienced options in the secondary if he wants to run more nickel or dime with Nahshon Wright, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Tyrique Stevenson all playing well.

Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, has appeared in only one game this season after battling a groin injury that ultimately led to core surgery. Gordon, a versatile nickelback whom Allen had big plans for, has dealt with calf and groin injuries and has only appeared in two games this year.

Both players have been practicing in full since last week, so presumably, they’ll be good to suit up for Friday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The first-place (8-3) Bears will need to bring their A-Game against the NFC East-leading Eagles (8-3).

Chicago’s final injury report for that game is due later today, so stay tuned right here on WCG for it while enjoying your family and some football today.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
