Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish, winner of three NBA titles with the Celts, recently created an account on X, which excited fans. On Thanksgiving morning, Parish used his account to share his top five point guards ever, a list which was an interesting mix of modern players and all-time greats. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Lots of conversation about point guards today. I thought I'd add my two cents! Archibald was the Celtics’ point guard that season and helped Boston win an NBA title. Archibald was a 6-foot-1 guard whose explosive speed and wizardry with the ball redefined point guard play in the NBA’s golden era. From his rookie season with the Cincinnati Royals in 1970 to his aforementioned championship triumph with the Celtics in ’81, Archibald’s career blended scoring fireworks and selfless passing. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991, Archibald had a career that saw him navigate trades and injuries with unyielding grit, peaking as the 1973 NBA MVP. He’s remained an important voice for the NBA, recently voicing surprise about Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić’s omission from the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
