Arsenal already hold a six-point lead after thrashing rivals Spurs 4-1 last week and seeing Manchester City lose to Newcastle. That boosted Chelsea up to second and now the Gunners face their London neighbours with a chance to move nine points clear of the Blues.

Chelsea-Arsenal always is a big match and, with it being the first-place team facing the team in second, it’s the clear FUBO Game of the Week.
Arsenal’s second game of the week is against Brentford, another London rival who is capable of beating anyone, but have struggled lately, losing two of their past three matches.
Arsenal’s lead is all the more impressive in that they’ve dealt with some key injuries. Captain Martin Odegaard has been in and out of the lineup, they weathered a spell without star forward Bukayo Saka and have now been dealing with the loss of Viktor Gyokeres and defender Gabriel.

Odegaard and Gyokeres have returned to limited training and it’s thought they both could be back on the bench for the visit to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea get Leeds after their clash against Arsenal, so if they can get the maximum points off their rivals they should be in good standing heading into next weekend.

Chelsea have quietly stayed in touch with the top while Liverpool have plunged and Manchester City have stuttered. At the moment, they look the most likely to give Arsenal a real go for the title, but winning this weekend will be imperative in that quest.
Momentum is a strange thing, once a team gets belief they can do almost anything. Chelsea now have won three in a row and are coming off a 3-0 whipping of much-decorated Barcelona in the Champions League.

They’ve quietly clawed their way up to second in the league, all without their best player, Cole Palmer, for most of the season.
And now it appears that Arsenal won’t be the only team hoping for a boost from returning players. Palmer is in the running to be back for Sunday, he trained with the squad this week and was in consideration to make the bench against Barcelona.
With Palmer out, Chelsea have seen the opportunity to give Brazilian teen Estevao more gametime and he has leapt into action. He scored a brilliant goal against Barcelona and outshone the Spanish side’s big teen talent, Lamine Yamal, as clearly the better player on the night.
Suddenly rich with attacking options, Chelsea are unbeaten in six games in all competitions and a win against Arsenal would bolster belief even more.

Stock up
Everton: After a bizarre incident on Monday when Everton’s Idrissa Gueye was given a straight red card and sent off for slapping one of his own teammates, Everton still comfortably beat Manchester United 1-0. It was their second win in a row and they’re unbeaten in three and have moved up to 11th, but are just three points off fourth. They have a difficult week with a home date with Newcastle on the weekend and then Bournemouth, who are just one point ahead of them, next week. David Moyes has them playing with confidence and a defensive resolve.
Nottingham Forest: What a roller-coaster season this has been. Already on their third manager of the season, ultra-defensive Sean Dyche has the team on a mini-roll. Despite Liverpool’s woes all season, it’s still a shock to see a team in 19th go to Anfield and not just win, but do so by 3-0. Dyche has back-to-back wins for the first time this season and they haven’t lost in three games. Brighton will be a difficult game, but they they play woeful Wolves as they can look to continue to move up the table to safety.

Aston Villa: A poor transfer market got them off to a dreadful start, but they’ve won four of their past five and, in the next week, face Wolves and Brighton with a real chance to solidify their top-four spot.
Stock down
Manchester City: Newcastle is a difficult place to play, but City looked nothing like the team that thrashed Liverpool before the international break. After the match, manager Pep Guardiola looked unsettled, arguing with a cameraman and getting in animated discussion with Newcastle players. They’ve got an easy week on paper == Leeds and Fulham — but nothing really has come easy for them this season.
Leeds: The bright start to the season is a distant memory, they’ve lost three in a row and four of five and have a week where they play Manchester City and Chelsea. They’ve slid into the relegation zone and, with teams around them starting to move, they need to stop the rot.

Tottenham: Spurs’ inconsistent form continues and while they are only three points off the top four, they were beaten so convincingly by Arsenal that it’s difficult to make the argument they belong anywhere near the top.
Crisis Club
Liverpool: How much worse can it get? For all the problems Liverpool have had there has been an awful lot of discounting any talk of changing the manager. Arne Slot winning the title in his first season seemed to put a lot of credit in the bank, but that credit has run out. It’s hard to imagine anything worse than losing six out of seven league games, including the past two by 3-0 scorelines. But that was followed up with an atrocious 4-1 loss at home to PSV in the Champions League. They dominated the first 30 minutes against Forest until a goal off a corner and then they fell apart. Mentally fragile, defensively chaotic and offensively toothless, anything less than six points off West Ham and Sunderland could see a stunning change in the head coach’s chair.
