Liverpool’s new training shirt for 2026 appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official release.

Liverpool’s training kit for the second half of the 2025/26 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official release – and its relatively unimaginative design doesn’t seem to have received an especially warm response.

With the club struggling in both the Premier League and in Europe, a new Adidas shirt probably won’t do much to cheers the fanbase up anyway, but the new top is – if a report from Footy Headlines is accurate – set to be used by the squad during practice from the New Year to replace the green kit currently worn.

Most clubs stick to the same training kit for a whole season, but Liverpool seem set to change things up once again with a raspberry red number which can be seen in close-up in the social media post above.

The kit also features peach and chocolate brown trim down the sides, across the shoulders (in the usual Adidas three-stripe style) and on the sleeves, with the club logo, sponsor and kit manufacturer’s logo picked out in white across the front in the traditional positions associated with most matchday shirts.

This shirt sticks much closer to the traditional Liverpool home kit design than the current edition, a green, black and white number which calls back to a number of the Merseyside club’s away kits from over the years – and shouldn’t be confused with the red and black pre-match kit, which is the one worn by players during the warm-up.

An official release date remains unannounced but it’s reported that last year’s equivalent shirt came out in early December, and that may be the case again should any supporters be on the hunt for Christmas present ideas. Not that the immediate reaction to the leak suggests that too many will be in a hurry to take that opportunity…

Fan reaction to ‘trash’ new training kit

While the initial leaks are as yet unconfirmed and may prove to be inaccurate – as is not uncommon during the early summer kit reveal season – this particular effort from Adidas may not prove to be among Liverpool’s biggest sellers based on the initial response from social media.

One fan caught the apparent mood by describing it online as “trash,” a harsh verdict but one which perhaps reflects both the broader mood of the club’s fans after another chastening defeat to PSV in the Champions League, and which may reflect a relatively unimaginative kit which doesn’t introduce many new design elements.

Many clubs use training and particularly pre-match kits to showcase vibrant designs which they might shy away from using on matchday shirts, but that isn’t the case with this particular offering.

In any case, there will be rather more concern among supporters as to whether the club can turn around an alarming sequence of results – and whether manager Arne Slot might be sacked before long.
