West Ham United will host defending champions Liverpool at London Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League.
The Reds lost 4-1 at home to PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, suffering their third consecutive defeat, each by a three-goal margin, across all competitions.
After back-to-back 3-0 losses to Manchester City and Nottingham Forest either side of the international break, the reigning English champions now find themselves 11 points off the Premier League summit.
This latest defeat marks the ninth loss in 12 games for Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, Arne Slot’s job has come under intense scrutiny, and the Dutchman will be desperate for a return to winning ways in London.
However, victory over the Hammers is far from guaranteed, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are unbeaten in their last three matches and have won their last two at home.
Slot spoke to the media on Thursday about West Ham and the impact Nuno Espirito Santo has had since his arrival in September.
The Dutchman said: “He’s having an impact on their results. He’s done so well everywhere he works here in England and done so well at [Nottingham] Forest.
“Now he’s doing well at West Ham again.
“He’s proven to be a difficult manager to play against, not only for me but for everyone, because he always has a very good game plan.
“It’s a tough team to beat at the moment, which was different maybe in the beginning of the season.
“We face them now and that’s why we definitely need to be ready for a challenge because that’s what they will give us.
“They know, of course, after our recent run of results that it’s probably different for them to play against us now than it was three or four months ago.”
