Patrick Mahomes' love of ketchup is well-known, so much so that he has previously admitted to eating sandwiches containing just the condiment alone.

Thanksgiving will see the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, just days after the latter stunned the Philadelphia Eagles with a second-half comeback to keep their playoff hopes alive at 5-5-1. Meanwhile, the Chiefs enter the Thanksgiving clash at 6-5 following what has been a challenging year for Mahomes and co.

While families across America will be sitting down to their Thanksgiving meal, Mahomes will be looking to put on a show. However, in the buildup to the game, some fans have been left sickened by the Chiefs quarterback's love of condiments, specifically ketchup.

The 30-year-old recently started in a commercial for Adidas, whom he is sponsored by. "Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks," said Mahomes sitting in front of a turkey in the commercial.

"Return home. See family, and meet new friends."

Following those words, Mahomes then proceeded to drench a turkey leg in ketchup. "Thanksgiving is a time to eat," continued the Chiefs star.

"Just when I was starting to forgive him," wrote one fan on X after seeing what they believed to be a culinary crime. A second wrote: "Cowboys by 10."

A third wrote: "that boy puttin ketchup onna Turkey tmrw right after the game too… liveTV." A fourth said: "This is why the Chiefs are 6-5 LMAOOOOO."

And a fifth commented: "This is just wrong."

The Chiefs quarterback, who owns a steakhouse with his Kansas City teammate Travis Kelce, even puts ketchup on his steak.

Speaking to Barstool Sports previously, Mahomes admitted his love for ketchup sandwiches when he was younger. "Yeah, it's actually gotten a lot better as I got older," said Mahomes when explaining his love of the condiment.

"When I was younger, I used to eat ketchup sandwiches, just bread and ketchup. That is disgusting."

When asked about how often he would eat them, he replied: "Every other day. You know, maybe [that's] why I can throw it [a football] far. That might have been the trick.

"That was something I got away from as I got older, but I still do the mac and cheese, which people don't like, and the steak. Because I'm from Texas and people were all like obsessed with their steaks. I've definitely been at a few nice restaurants where I've got the steak and asked for ketchup and the chef comes down and asks like, 'What's wrong?'
