Giants' Jaxson Dart clears concussion protocol, poised for QB1 return Monday vs. Patriots

Rookie Jaxson Dart is all clear for a prime-time return.

The New York Giants first-round quarterback has cleared concussion protocol, the team announced Thursday, and is in line to resume starting duties for Big Blue on Monday night against the New England Patriots.

Dart was injured in a Week 10 defeat against the Chicago Bears and has missed the last two games, both losses despite inspired play from backup Jameis Winston. Dart's been a full participant in practice Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dart will presumably take back the starting reins as New York aims to halt a six-game losing streak.

Following the Bears loss, head coach Brian Daboll was fired, so this will mark Dart's first game under interim head coach Mike Kafka.

The dual-threat rookie out of Ole Miss has thrown for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns and just three interceptions, while rushing for 317 yards and seven touchdowns. It's Dart's hard-charging rushing style that's become worrisome and will be monitored with a spotlight going forward.

Dart and the Giants (2-10) kick off against the host Patriots (10-2) on Monday night at 8:15 ET.
