Erin Andrews Fires Back After Being Accused of Complaining About Missing Holidays for Her Job

Erin Andrews is speaking out to clarify her comments about the sacrifices she makes to be a sideline reporter at NFL games.

After answering a fan question earlier this week, Erin faced some backlash for her comments, with people accusing her of complaining about missing holidays because of her job.

“I live out of a suitcase. I miss a lot of stuff. I missed a lot of weddings. I miss a lot of events. You have to love it to get you through the fact, ‘I’m not gonna be home for Thanksgiving next week’ or ‘Christmas is cut short,’” Erin said in a piece of her comments.

ESPN reporter Jenna Laine was among the people who called out Erin’s comments.

Jenna tweeted, “I appreciate what she’s trying to say, but let’s consider the folks working 2-3 jobs in retail, in warehouses and in the service industry right now, just trying to make ends meet. They’re not getting time with their families either. This would be a dream for them. Some people have lost jobs and are living out of their cars as we speak, or they don’t know how they’re going to keep the lights on or put food on the table. Their kids won’t get anything for Christmas. I mean, we actually get FED on the job. I appreciate her hustle and that of my peers. But let’s have some perspective.”

Saw Erin Andrews’ remarks about the challenges in this business…starting out making $40K a year and not having holidays. I appreciate what she’s trying to say, but let’s consider the folks working 2-3 jobs in retail, in warehouses and in the service industry right now, just…

And this warrants repeating…but I totally wasn’t trying to single Erin out in a bad way and I have a lot of respect for her. I don’t think she was asking for pity. It’s more just us all collectively recognizing that while our jobs can make things feel lonely (I know I’ve felt…

Erin replied to Jenna and several other people’s comments.

She wrote, “Hey Jenna. Go back and watch the clip. The question was geared toward being a sideline reporter and what it takes to do the job. What you miss and what you don’t. I was answering the question. It’s part of a segment we do where people write in. I wasn’t complaining I was talking about what it the job consists of. Not just about wearing sequin tops and hoping to get on camera! You know what I mean!”

Jenna replied by saying she did watch the clip and that she wasn’t trying to attack Erin.

I did. And I did that before I wrote my comments. I understand you were answering a question. But some people would do anything to make $40,000 right now and be able to put Thanksgiving food on the table and keep the electricity on. Somewhere, someone is proud and grateful to…

Hey click bait. First of all Happy Thanksgiving. Second of all how am I under fire? I’m saying you have to love the job bc you miss a lot in your life. Which I do and have. You seem to have missed the whole clip! See you for Packers at Lions!
