Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ruled out Thursday vs. Packers with ankle injury

Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went to the locker room with an ankle injury and was ruled out early in the second half of Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

St. Brown walked under his own power but was noticeably limping after he was rolled up on in the first quarter. St. Brown was engaged with Packers safety Xavier McKinney when teammate Trystan Colon-Castillo inadvertently rolled up on the Lions wideout from behind.

St. Brown is a two-time All-Pro who led the Lions coming into Thursday with 75 receptions, 884 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.

He exited with 6:19 to go in the first quarter Thursday, having been targeted once with no catches, and was ruled out early in the third quarter.

The Lions are already without tight end Sam LaPorta for the remainder of the season due to a back injury. Losing St. Brown would be a major blow regardless, but one compounded by the previous departure of LaPorta, likely leaving wide receiver Jameson Williams and running back Jahmyr Gibbs as quarterback Jared Goff's top targets. Williams already had a touchdown catch Thursday by the time St. Brown was ruled out.

Now, the Lions wait to see just how serious St. Brown's ankle injury is.
