NORWELL — Senior Colin Arnold threw four touchdown passes, classmate Brandon Errico had two TD receptions and a 73-yard kickoff return for a score, and Hanover coasted past Super Bowl-bound Norwell, 49-8, on Thursday morning.
For the senior-laden Hawks, (7-4), Thanksgiving marked one last game for the close-knit squad. Hanover leads the annual series, 34-24-1.
“They’re great kids above anything else,” said coach Brian Kelliher. “They were a joy to coach every day.”
This group has been to a state final, the final four, and recently the quarterfinals in Division 5.
“I just said to them, you deserve to go out on your terms, so let’s go out and just play,” Kelliher added.
No stopping the Hawks. Brandon Errico returns the opening kick of the second half 73 yards for a touchdown. Two point pass to Colin Arnold is good, 42-0 11:24 left in 3Q, now at running time here in Norwell @GlobeSchools pic.twitter.com/v33yLQmpwv

Senior captain Sebastian Brown eclipsed 1,200 yards receiving and had 16 touchdowns this season. He caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Arnold to end a 21-0 run in the first quarter.
“Coach [Kelliher] has coached us since the second grade. We’ve had a connection with him for 10 years, it’s just great to finally end this on a good one,” said Brown. “It’s sad to leave, but we had some good years.”
Arnold missed nearly the entire season after he broke his collarbone during the second game.
“He fought back, he really wanted to be back, and he had a great game,” said Brown.

On the Hawks’ opening possession, Brown caught a backward pass from Arnold and launched a 51-yard pass down the sideline to Errico. That led to a 2-yard rushing TD for senior Peter Clarke (2 TDs).
“It was great,” said Errico. “It didn’t end the way we wanted to in the playoffs, but ending it on Thanksgiving [49-8] was great.”
Senior quarterback Keegan O’Hare got the Clippers on the board late in the fourth quarter with a 5-yard dash. On a fake extra point, O’Hare connected with senior Jacob Gosselin for 2 points.
The top-seeded Clippers (9-3) face No. 3 Fairhaven (10-1) in the Division 6 Super Bowl on Dec. 4.
