What’s being said nationally after Lions drop Thanksgiving matchup to Packers

DETROIT — The wins and losses keep trading off for the Detroit Lions as they dropped to 7-5 on the season after a 31-24 defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers (8-3-1) on Thursday.

The annual Thanksgiving game at Ford Field left the Lions with another unfortunate result and ended with Detroit getting swept by the Packers for the first time since 2020.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams had a standout performance with 144 receiving yards and a touchdown as he tried to lead the way for an injury-plagued offense that struggled out of the gate.

Fellow receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went down with an ankle injury that required Williams to step up and is expected to hold the Lions’ top receiver out at least a week, possibly more.

The quest to win a third straight NFC North title certainly took a major bump as the Lions dropped to 1-3 against divisional opponents.

I know fourth down is their thing, but they need a field goal somewhere. Should’ve been caught - but I think going for it was a mistake. #Lions

There’s a line between aggressive and asinine. Dan Campbell has been living on one side of it lately.
