Micah Parsons turned Thanksgiving Day into his personal highlight reel on Thursday. The Packers edge rusher made Jared Goff’s afternoon absolutely miserable in Green Bay’s 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions.
Parsons was everywhere. He tallied 2.5 sacks, eight tackles, and four quarterback hits while spending most of the game living in Detroit’s backfield.

But the stat sheet only tells part of the story. Parsons also etched his name into the record books with a feat nobody else has ever accomplished.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Parsons became the first player in NFL history to notch 12 or more sacks in each of his first five seasons. That kind of consistency is rare, and it speaks volumes about his ability to wreak havoc from day one.

Goff got sacked three times during the contest, and Parsons had his fingerprints all over each one. His Thanksgiving Day performances have become appointment viewing at this point.
He’s suited up every holiday since entering the league and racked up 8.5 sacks across five games, recording at least one in each appearance.

Thursday’s dominant showing pushed the Packers to 8-3-1 while Detroit dropped to 7-5. Green Bay acquired Parsons from Dallas before the season and locked him down with a four-year, $188 million deal, the richest contract ever given to a non-quarterback.
With five regular-season games remaining, he sits just 1.5 sacks shy of matching his single-season career high.
