Why Ja'Marr Chase was suspended for Bengals after incident with Steelers' Jalen Ramsey

The Cincinnati Bengals have picked quite the timing for some notable returns.

Their Thanksgiving night game will feature Joe Burrow's return from injury and Ja'Marr Chase's return from suspension to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.

Burrow was out after turf toe surgery.

Chase missed just a single week.

It's fitting that the superstar duo is back together.

Why was Ja'Marr Chase suspended?

Ja'Marr Chase was suspended for spitting on Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

In Week 11, the rivals got into it on the field a few times before Chase spit on Ramsey.

Chase has since apologized for what he did.

"What I did was wrong," Chase said. "The circumstances don't matter. My passion for the game is no excuse. There's zero place in our sport -- or in life -- for that level of disrespect."

The NFL suspended Chase for a single game. He served that suspension in Week 12.

He's back just in time for the holiday primetime game, and just in time to team up with Burrow.

The Bengals are 3-8 and probably need to win out just to have a chance at the playoffs.

At least they've got both Burrow and Chase back to make their best run at it.
