Chiefs suffer horror injury update to rub salt into wounds of Cowboys loss

When it rains, it pours, and the Kansas City Chiefs are in a world of hurt right now.

Still coming to terms with the 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, that now drops Andy Reid's team to 6-6 and sees playoffs, unless the Chiefs win out, seem like an unlikely goal, the football gods have decided to pile on.

Rookie left tackle Josh Simmons, who was playing well against the Dallas defense, was forced to exit the game due to injury. We didn't know the reason, but we do now.

Look away, Chiefs fans.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Simmons suffered a dislocated and fractured wrist. Ouch.

But that's not the worst part.

Rapoport states that Simmons is out indefinitely with the injury.

Chiefs harshly dealt with by football gods vs. Dallas

Yes, the loss was bad enough given what that now does to the Chiefs' outlook for the rest of the season and the perilous position it puts Patrick Mahomes and Co. in.

But now, Mahomes will have to face the rest of the season without his starting left tackle.

That is far from ideal.

Andy Reid stated it's next man up post-game, but we know that in some positions, that just isn't the case.

It will now be up to Jaylon Moore to take over and solidify Mahomes' blindside for the rest of the season, as the Chiefs suffered a brutal blow after a devastating loss to the Cowboys.

As I said, folks, when it rains, it pours.
