Jordan Love hits rare Thanksgiving mark not seen in 75 years

Jordan Love is Mr. Automatic when it’s Thanksgiving Day. He proved that again on Thursday, as he led the Green Bay Packers toa 31-24 win at Ford Field in Detroit against the Detroit Lions.

Love had a scintillating performance in Green Bay’s third win in a row, as he threw for a total of 234 passing yards andfour touchdowns with zero interceptions on 18-of-30 pass completions. He was protected well in the pocket, too, with zero sacks absorbed before finishing with a 124.2 passer rating.

And with Green Bay’s victory over Jared Goff and the Lions, Love became just the first Packers quarterback to have not one, not two, but three wins on Thanksgiving Day, as noted on social media by the X account of NFL+.

Green Bay improved to 8-3-1 after beating the Lions for the second time in the 2025 NFL season. The Packers are still second in the NFC North standings, just behind the 8-3 Chicago Bears.

But a Chicago loss this coming Sunday to the reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles on the road would push the Packers back to the top of the division again.

“We knew what was at stake with his game,” Love said after the Detroit game, per the Associated Press (h/tESPN). “It’s a tight race.”

The Packers and the Bears are also scheduled to face each other at Lambeau Field in Week 14.
