Whatever happens the rest of the way in the 2025 NFL season, Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers can always say they swept the Detroit Lions. Green Bay started the season with a 27-13 takedown of the Lions in Week 1 at Lambeau Field, which was also where superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons debuted for his new team after the trade from the Dallas Cowboys.
And then on Thursday, the Packers got Detroit again.
Jordan Love had a masterful performance to lead the way for his team, as he passed for 234 passing yards on 18-of-30 pass completions, while also tossing four touchdowns with zero interceptions. When it was all said and done on the field, it was Love and company, who gorged on the celebratory turkey, while the Lions retreated to their dugout with their heads down after a loss to their NFC North rivals.

One can only imagine how sweet it must be for LaFleur tocomplete a sweep of Detroit. In the 2024 campaign, the Packers dropped both games against the Lions.
However, LaFleur stayed classy in the postgame press conference while talking about the win and the Lions.
“Every game’s its own game, and we just came in here with an aggressive mindset, and I think that’s one of the ways you have to play against these guys, knowing that you’re going to defend four downs and it’s a really good football team,” LaFleur said after the game, perMatt Schneidman of The Athletic.
“They’ve won a lot of games, and they’ve been one of the premier teams in the league for the last few years now. They’ve got a lot of great players. I’ve got so much respect for Dan and his staff and what they’ve been able to accomplish.”
Green Bay has another division rival coming up next, with the Chicago Bears visiting them at Lambeau Field for an important clash between the top two teams in the NFC North.
