Liverpool 1-4 PSV: Match Review
West Ham vs Liverpool team news ahead of the Premier League clash at the London Stadium.
Arne Slot heads into a crucial period of his Liverpool tenure when they travel to West Ham United on Sunday.
The Reds head coach has come under pressure just six months after winning the Premier League title. Liverpool’s defence of their crown is already over as they have gone on their worst run of results for 71 years. Nine losses in 12 matches in all competitions means that Slot’s role has come under the microscope.
Liverpool have lost their past three games by an aggregate scoreline of 10-1, most recently being beaten 4-1 by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. Slot has insisted he still has the backing of the club’s hierarchy but that will not continue if he does not turn around the wretched form.
"We've had the same conversations that we've had since I got here,” he said at his pre-match press conference. "We fight on. We try to improve, but the conversations have been the same as they have been for the last one and a half years."
The Reds face a West Ham side that have picked up since Nuno Espirito Santo replaced Graham Potter in the London Stadium hot seat. Slot will know that there will be little margin for error.
Ahead of the clash, here’s the current team news for both sides.
