Jamie Carragher verdict
Jamie Carragher believes Arne Slot has one week to save his job as Liverpool head coach.
Writing in the , the former Reds defender said: ”It is hard to believe that sentence is being written, but Liverpool‘s next three games are against West Ham United, Sunderland and Leeds United.
“Anything fewer than seven points will make an already unacceptable situation untenable.”
Before he continued: “The immediate response to the victory over Tottenham Hotspur on April 27 was justified and understandable.
“The supporters were always going to start the biggest party for 35 years after being able to witness their side become champions. But for the manager and players, there were still four games left.
“No one wants to sound like a killjoy, but the time to arrange parties in Ibiza and Dubai was after the final game against Crystal Palace, not before.
‘”It may have seemed good fun seeing all the party videos and photographs on social media, but as the team failed to win any of their final four games, losing twice, accusations of it being a bad look had merit.
‘This was the club’s 20th league championship, taking them level with Manchester United.
“Even without league titles, Liverpool have been a winning machine.
“They have won 20 trophies in the past 24 years because no sooner is one more honour on the board, the work begins to get the next.
“At best, the downing of tools before the season was over was wilfully unprofessional. At worst, Liverpool behaved like a small club winning the title for the first time.”

Gerrard tipped to become Liverpool manager
Steven Gerrard has been tipped to one day become Liverpool manager.
Speaking to Boyle Sports, Liverpool Champions League winner Vladimir Smicer said: “It's important that if you sign for a club, you need to know where you want to go and what the club's ambitions are.
“It's not good to sign for a club that is financially struggling and has no future. Of course, Steven Gerrard has been a fantastic player, one of the best players I played with. But as a manager, as I said, he's still very young.
“His name is big in England, Europe, and world football, Stevie is fantastic. I know his mentality, he's a winner. He definitely wants to go to a club where he feels he has a chance to win games, be a strong team, and build something.
"So if they show him plans for the future and he feels it's achievable, it's interesting for him. But it must have a future, it must have ambition. People sometimes ask me if he can one day be the manager of Liverpool. And I'm saying yes, I think one day Stevie G can be a manager of Liverpool.
“He would be a very good manager of Liverpool in my opinion. But we'll see in the future. He needs to have some success with a team.
“Could it be Birmingham or Wrexham, maybe. But if he has success, why not Liverpool one day.”

Arne Slot has vowed to "fight on" with the backing of the Liverpool hierarchy despite a dismal run of form that has prompted increasing scrutiny over his role as head coach.
The Reds suffered their joint-heaviest home defeat in European competition when they were humiliated 4-1 by PSV Eindhoven in their latest Champions League clash on Wednesday evening.
But Slot struck a defiant tone when addressing the media on Thursday afternoon ahead of Sunday's clash at West Ham United.
Asked whether he has spoken to sporting director Richard Hughes or the Liverpool ownership since Wednesday night, Slot said: “Yes, we have had the same conversations since I was here.
"I am not sure if I said last night but we fight on, we try to improve – that's what we all try - but the conversations have been the same as they have been for the last one-and-a-years."
