Rumours of an unexpected Liverpool return for Jurgen Klopp have ramped up this week after Arne Slot suffered two damaging defeats.
Slot is under extreme pressure to turn things around at Anfield having led the Reds to their worst run in more than 70 years.
Latest reports suggest that the Liverpool owners retain faith in Slot, at least for the time being. Nevertheless, momentum has started to gather behind a possible return for Klopp.

German outlet BILD ran quotes from journalist Marcel Reif on Thursday suggesting that the former Liverpool manager is ‘hovering like a UFO’ over Anfield as he awaits the call to take over.
But as the rest of the world debate whether Klopp is coming back, the man himself posted a typically Jurgen video on Instagram which would suggest he is not exactly itching to get back to it.
Jurgen Klopp debates who has the best hotdogs in the USA
Part of the appeal of Klopp has always been his personality. The German is a huge character who was often hilarious completely by accident during his time with Liverpool.
As debate rages over whether he would be interested in a return to Merseyside, Klopp has been at it again.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, just as reports that he is angling for a move back to Liverpool were hitting the German press, Klopp posted a video ranking his favourite American foods.
“Happy Thanksgiving!” wrote the former Reds boss. “It’s a good reason to kick-off my preparation for the World Cup next year, and it starts with the most important topic that requires my pundit opinion: FOOD. Can’t wait to find out which stadium has the best hot dogs.”
What follows is a blind ranking as Klopp places ten different American dishes from one to 10 in random order. The Champions League winning coach is delighted to have left the top spot open for the last food that appears: hot dogs.
“Hot dogs! I love hot dogs!” Klopp beams. “Nobody knows what it’s made of, but I love it! So, hot dog on one. Good choice, Jurgen.” Never change, boss.

Liverpool miss Klopp’s personality
Klopp had some difficult moments during his near nine-year spell with Liverpool, with a particularly tough run coming during the 2020/21 campaign.
The difference between Klopp and Slot, however, is that with the former manager supporters always felt like he was on the verge of pulling it back together.
The strength of his personality meant that Klopp could rally his players in the most extreme circumstances. Under Slot, the Liverpool squad look demotivated and lost.
As a result, the logic in bringing Klopp back to Anfield to steady the ship is relatively airtight. If anyone can put a collective arm around these players and get the best out of them once again, it is he.
For now, it seems Klopp has other matters on his mind, but if Liverpool lose to West Ham on Sunday, he may find that Richard Hughes’ name pops up on his phone after all.
