Ibrahima Konate's future at Liverpool has become slightly more clear.
The Liverpool defender's contract is up in the summer - and the 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, following in the footsteps of former team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold after he made the jump last summer.
However, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Real have now made their stance over a potential deal clear. In a post on X, he said: "Real Madrid considered Ibrahima Konate but inform Liverpool they have no interest in signing France int’l."
He added that Konate's "contract situation could still go either way".
The Frenchman started during the Reds humiliating defeat to PSV on Wednesday evening, where he came under criticism for his role in the Dutch outfits third goal.
Speaking on CBS, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said, in an off-air rant: “Oh my god, Konate. Oh my god, Konate. Watch Konate here, oh my god!
“I’ve f****** had enough of them, honest to god. That Konate, I mean that’s a sackable offence for the manager, keeping f****** picking him. He should be sacked for that."
