Jurgen Klopp posts video just hours after Arne Slot's 'sackable offence'

Jurgen Klopp surprised Liverpool supporters with an Instagram video posted just hours after Jamie Carragher demanded Arne Slot's dismissal.

Liverpool's dismal form persisted on Wednesday, as the team endured a crushing 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. The damaging loss at Anfield followed a series of defensive mistakes from the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Milos Kerkez, representing the team's ninth defeat in 12 matches this campaign and the club's poorest spell in more than 70 years.

While working as a pundit for CBS Sports, Carragher was filmed delivering a scathing outburst directed at both Slot and Konate. The ex-defender's off-air response to Liverpool's collapse was captured in footage uploaded to CBS Sports' Facebook page.

He was heard saying: "Oh my God, Konate. Oh my God, Konate.

"Watch Konate, here. Oh my God. I've f------ had enough of them, honest to God, that Konate."

Carragher was then seen making a telephone call and criticizing Slot. He added: "I mean, that's a sackable offence for the manager, he keeps picking him. He should be sacked for that.

"Have they scored again, 4-1. What's this, nine (defeats) in 12 (games)?"

His remarks formed part of broader criticism aimed at Slot, who just months earlier had been hailed as a Premier League champion in his debut campaign at the club.

While the manager now faces mounting pressure to secure his position, his predecessor, Klopp, appears remarkably untroubled by the negativity swirling around his former employers.

The German, currently serving as Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group following his departure from Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, has been speculatively linked with a remarkable return to Anfield should Slot face dismissal.

It proved somewhat peculiar, then, to witness Klopp responding to the PSV defeat with an Instagram post in which he seemed in high spirits whilst arbitrarily rating classic Thanksgiving dishes.

He posted: "Happy Thanksgiving! It's a good reason to kick-off my preparation for the World Cup next year, and it starts with the most important topic that requires my pundit opinion: FOOD.

"Can't wait to find out which stadium has the best hot dogs."

Despite mounting uncertainty surrounding Slot's tenure, Liverpool appears to be maintaining its support for the manager, while Klopp has previously dismissed any prospect of returning to the touchline.
