PSG closely monitoring 28-year-old Barcelona forward’s revival – report

The strong performances of Marcus Rashford, on loan at Barcelona, have not only earned him a deserved return to the England national team but have also restored a reputation that seemed lost after an unexpected decline at Manchester United.

So far this term, the 28-year-old attacker has racked up six goals and nine assists from 17 appearances in all competitions, emerging as one of the Blaugrana’s most effective forwards.

PSG set sights on Rashford

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford’s form has put him on the radar of other major clubs such as PSG.

Barcelona hold a purchase option of around €30 million for the Englishman once his loan spell ends on 30 June. However, Les Parisiens have taken an interest in his situation and could be willing to pay a higher sum.

Indeed, the report states that the reigning French and European champions have €50 million set aside in case they decide to move forward with the operation for the Manchester United loanee.

Barça, for their part, are very pleased with Rashford’s contributions so far this season, although the feeling is that there is room for improvement, especially in the defensive aspects of his game.

As such, there appears to be no rush to make a decision on whether or not to activate the €30 million buy option for the Englishman at the end of the season. It will depend on his progress and on the club’s financial situation.

But with his revival attracting interest from major European clubs like PSG, who also have the resources to make an offer to Manchester United, Barcelona might be pressed to make a decision sooner rather than later.
