Chelsea eye shock move for Arsenal outcast

Premier League leaders Arsenal make the short trip across the capital to face second-placed Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners currently sit six points clear at the top of the table after beating rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby last time out.

Chelsea, meanwhile, find themselves second in the standings having cruised to a 2-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, it has emerged that Chelsea are considering an audacious move to sign an Arsenal star.

According to Si Phillips, the Blues are trying to convince Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly to move to Stamford Bridge.

The report claims that the West London side are being ‘bold and aggressive’ in their efforts to convince the player to make the move.

Lewis-Skelly, 19, is a product of the Gunners’ academy and enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season last term.

He made 39 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side last season and forced his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, but this season has been very different.

SO far the left-back, who can also play in midfield, has featured 14 times for Arsenal but he is yet to start a Premier League match.

According to the report, Chelsea are hoping to take advantage of the player’s situation and lure him to West London.

Lewis-Skelly’s contract with boyhood club Arsenal is currently set to run until the end of the 2029/30 season, and it is claimed that the player himself is determined to make it at the North London club despite his struggles this term.

Having scored on his senior England debut against Albania in March, Lewis-Skelly didn’t feature in Tuchel’s latest squad and the former Chelsea boss publicly suggested that the defender will have to play more regularly at club level if he is to be selected for the World Cup next year.
