The latest Fantasy Premier League injury news ahead of Gameweek 13 - including updates on Antoine Semenyo and Viktor Gyökeres.

Another Fantasy Premier League deadline fast approaches, but as always there are a whole host of injury issues to worry about before we make our transfers and set our teams before Saturday’s lunchtime deadline.

Antoine Semenyo and Viktor Gyökeres are among the big-name doubts heading into a busy weekend of Premier League football, and there have even been some mutterings that Cole Palmer could make an unexpected return – so to help you keep up-to-date we’ve collected all the latest reports and listened in to the pre-match press conferences to bring you the latest FPL injury news for Gameweek 13.

Antoine Semenyo & Viktor Gyökeres among FPL injury doubts

Antoine Semenyo: The Ghanaian winger picked up both an ankle sprain and an illness over the last couple of weeks and missed Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with West Ham as a result – but Andoni Iraola told the media on Friday that barring late setbacks Semenyo “is going to be available” this time around. Justin Kluivert is back in training and close to a return, too, although he doesn’t sound likely to play this weekend.

Viktor Gyökeres: Mikel Arteta isn’t typically very forthcoming about injuries but did say in midweek that both Gyökeres and fellow forward Kai Havertz would have scans this week to see whether they could play against Chelsea on Sunday – it sounds like both are close to a comeback, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll be involved as yet.

Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitiké & Alisson: There’s a fair bit of injury news for Arne Slot’s struggling Liverpool this week, but it boils down to the fact that Slot has told us that Alisson should be fine for Sunday after an illness, Wirtz will play if training on Friday goes according to plan, and Ekitiké is a doubt after picking up a knock against PSV. We wouldn’t lean on either of the last two. Or indeed any Liverpool players, the way they’re going.

Matheus Cunha: Cunha is a doubt for Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace after sustaining a head injury against Everton on Monday – it remains unclear as to whether he has been placed in the concussion protocol, so until Ruben Amorim’s press conference later on Friday there is no way to know whether or not he might play.

Could Cole Palmer make a shock comeback for Gameweek 13?

Cole Palmer: Last week, we found out that Palmer, who was closing in on a comeback from a groin injury, had managed to break his toe after kicking a door in his own home – an injury that was meant to keep him out of Sunday’s game against Arsenal.

Enzo Maresca offered unexpected midweek hope, however, when he told reporters that Palmer was already back in training, “feeling good” and while he didn’t “think” the playmaker would be available it was hinted that there was an outside chance. Pending Maresca’s press conference, we wouldn’t bet on it, but it’s not impossible that he plays. We’d hold off on the transfer, however.

Anthony Gordon & Kieran Trippier: Gordon is yellow flagged in the app at the time of publishing but he came through the midweek defeat to Marseille in one piece and is expected to be fine this weekend. Trippier, however, is out for a month with a hamstring injury. Yoane Wissa is back in training but isn’t ready just yet.

Chris Wood & Morgan Gibbs-White: There’s very little clarity on when Chris Wood will make his return from a knee injury – last week, Sean Dyche suggested that he was right on the brink of being back in the squad, and this week it’s all gone very quiet (pending his pre-match presser, of course). We’ll provide an update once we get some more news later, but he’s a very big doubt for this weekend as it stands – as is Gibbs-White, who missed the midweek match against Malmö with a minor injury which Dyche hoped would “settle” by Sunday.

Kaoru Mitoma: A permanent orange flag for over month now, Mitoma always seems to be a week or so away from returning from injury – and we’ll have to give it at least another week after Fabian Hürzeler confirmed that the Japanese winger would miss out once again ahead of the game against Nottingham Forest.
