Champions League Team of the Week Game week 5

With gameweek five of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign now behind us, the table is finally starting to take shape.

Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are in a strong position to qualify for the knockout rounds, while the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Liverpool have underwhelmed thus far. Who made it into our Champions League team of the week this time around?

GK: Mark Flekken

Mark Flekken has proven to be an inspired transfer for Bayer Leverkusen so far.

He had to make some strong saves to keep Manchester City quiet, but the former Brentford man passed the trial by fire with flying colours.

RB: Jurrien Timber

What a season 2025/26 is turning out to be for Jurrien Timber and you can read about how he forms one of the 5 best right sided attacks in the Premier League.

He put forth another spectacular performance for Arsenal against Bayern Munich, scoring their first goal of the game en route to a 3-1 win over the Bundesliga champions where the defence kept Harry Kane on a night the England captain would have looked to impress.

CB: Willian Pacho

PSG may have conceded three goals against Tottenham with Willian Pacho amongst their back line, but Pacho made up for it by scoring their fourth goal of the evening.

None of the goals were directly his fault – it was a strong performance from the 24 year old.

CB: Ousmane Diomande

Ousmane Diomande is one of the best young centre-backs in the world.

He proved this against Club Brugge, as Sporting CP shut out their Belgian opponents to pick up an impressive 3-0 win.
