Kevin Durant Gives His Mini-Review Of NBA 2K26

Durant is positive on adding the WNBA too.

Kevin Durant has shared his own personal review of NBA 2K26.

As we had previously covered, KD shared his love for the NBA 2K franchise in a new video under his personal media outlet, Boardroom.

We didn’t have room to cover this earlier, but KD shared his opinion on the latest game in the franchise too. He and teammate Amen Thompson were playing NBA 2K26 on the PlayStation 5 in this video.

Kevin Durant’s Take On NBA 2K26

Here’s what Durant had to say about the latest game:

The shooting is a little easier. They made sure that the tempo shot is like the best shot to shoot for the gamers who understand what I’m talking about.

The shooting is easier and it’s just smoother movements, too.

As you can see, KD’s frame of reference are the prior NBA 2K games. Notably, he didn’t have that much to say about the MyTeam and MyPlayer systems.

Instead, he focused on the nitty gritty of the gameplay itself, and that’s just fitting. Because this is a practitioner of the sweet sport itself, assessing how well the game functions as a simulation.

How Is WNBA Being Added To The Game?

KD was also asked about the WNBA being added to NBA 2K26. Here’s what he had to say:

I think it’s cool. I think it’s when they start putting WNBA teams in the game in general.

I thought it was probably the right direction to go to kind of use WNBA throughout all of the game modes.

So, yeah, it’s pretty pretty cool to see that.

Amen also chimed in, saying that he likes that you could play with Lebron James and Candace Parker in the same team.

This probably should not be a controversial opinion to begin with. On a gameplay level, players would want to have more players and teams to play their sports games with.

Of course, this also functions to bring the WNBA in in the world of video games. Now, in prior years the WNBA would have been given their own game.

But in this era of live service, gamers are more used to being dedicated to one or a few games instead of switching around games. From that perspective, WNBA players are more likely to see action if they were added to an established title than if they were put in their own game.

KD joked about playing NBA 2K26 with Amen for 80+ more games. We don’t know if he’ll make more videos of them playing, but we’d love to learn more about his love for NBA 2K and video games in general.
