Marcus Rashford could be offered a new exit path out of Manchester United at the end of the season amid uncertainty over whether Barcelona will sign him permanently. The Spanish giants have a buy option of €30 million (£26m) next summer, but it's not yet clear whether that will be triggered.
The England star has scored six goals for Barcelona and provided another nine assists across all competitions. An injury to Raphinha has meant Rashford has been ever-present in Hansi Flick's starting XI, and it's understood he has left a good impression among teammates and staff.
After a short loan spell at Aston Villa last season, Rashford secured his dream move to Camp Nou in the summer. As part of the switch, a future permanent fee of £26m was agreed, which would see the 28-year-old leave Manchester United for good.
However, there is still no clear indication yet whether they will trigger that option. It's believed that a decision will be made later in the season, depending on how Rashford's form plays out between now and May.
Now, another twist has emerged, with Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo providing insight into Flick's summer transfer plans and their impact on Rashford. The report states that Barcelona sporting director Deco and Flick have agreed that a left-footed centre-back, a winger and a centre-forward will all be prioritised.

With Julian Alvarez being monitored alongside Harry Kane, Barcelona are planning for life without Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 38 by next summer. However, it's Barca's ambition to reinforce a versatile winger that could derail Rashford's permanent move.
Flick has hardly utilised Rashford as a centre-forward this season but Raphinha's return from injury could spark a change in his place in the Barcelona team. Erling Haaland has also been mentioned as a possible target.
The United loanee is namechecked in the report, but AC Milan's Rafael Leao has been mentioned as a possible alternative. There is also the possibility that Raphinha could leave amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
As a result, Rashford's future could be elsewhere, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering tempting him with a move to France. Mundo Deportivo have claimed that European champions are paying close attention to the England international and have set aside €50m (£43.8m) if they decide to move for him.

Luis Enrique's side currently have one of most clinical forward lines in Europe with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola impressing behind Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele. Rashford's ability play on the left and as a striker could see him be a valuable target for the Parisians.
Rashford still has two more years left on his contract at Old Trafford and under Ruben Amorim, it's unlikely that he will be offered another chance to return to the United squad. However, having shown flashes of his best in Spain, the chance of finding a permanent buyer shouldn't be as tough as before.
