They chat about Caleb Williams, the offense’s progress, and what still needs some fixing, while also discussing the injury-plagued defense and how they are working through those issues.
They also discuss what should be a play-calling dream of a matchup between Chicago’s Ben Johnson and Philly’s Vic Fangio, and what each can bring to outsmart the other.
“As far as the offense going against the Eagles defense, this is going to be such a fun chess match,” Segrue said on the show. “I think if you don’t have any stakes in this game, like if you’re just a casual football fan, this is going to be so fun to watch when it comes to Ben Johnson versus Vic Fangio.”
“Who can out-scheme the other? Ben Johnson, being kind of, I don’t want to say up-and-coming because he’s done it for a while, but still, he’s that younger offensive mind who’s still very young in his coaching career versus Vic Fangio. He’s been doing this for decades now and is the godfather of NFL defenses.”
