Are Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon playing today? Latest injury updates on Bears DBs

The Chicago Bears haven't had two of their best defensive players in cornerback Jaylon Johnson and defensive back Kyler Gordon for several weeks now.

Gordon hasn't taken the field since Week 7 due to calf and groin injuries that landed him on injured reserve, while Johnson has also been on IR after undergoing core muscle surgery and hasn't played since Week 2.

With both players having been designated to return from injured reserve recently, they've had a chance to suit up in the Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Here's what we know about their chances of playing.

Are Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon playing today?

Yes, both Johnson and Gordon will suit up on Friday against the Eagles after the Bears activated both off injured reserve on Thursday.

"The Chicago Bears on Thursday announced that the club has activated defensive back Jaylon Johnson and defensive back Kyler Gordon from Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return," the team announced.

It'll be interesting to see if either player sees the field for a full complement of snaps in their first game back. It's possible Johnson and Gordon could both be limited after having missed a lot of time.

Nevertheless, having Johnson and Gordon on the field provides a huge boost for a Bears team that is on a four-game winning streak and has won eight out of nine.

Entering Week 13, the Bears rank 21st against the pass, giving up 224.7 passing yards per game.
