Former Buffalo Bills star Steve Tasker has confirmed he is alive, debunking a Facebook hoax that claimed he had unexpectedly passed away.
While the majority of football fans were enjoying their Thursday triple-header of Thanksgiving action - which saw the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions amidst some contentious officiating, the Cincinnati Bengals stun the Baltimore Ravens in Joe Burrow's return from injury, and the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Kansas City Chiefs without the support of Taylor Swift - Bills legend Tasker was subjected to a shocking Facebook hoax claiming he had died.

"Sad news: Thirty minutes ago in Buffalo, the family of former Buffalo Bills legend Steve Tasker, aged 62, unexpectedly announced that he had passed away," read the Facebook post.
However, the claim was later debunked by Tasker. Taking to X, the former Bills receiver posted a screenshot of the bogus report, writing: "I'm fine."

Some fans were skeptical immediately of the report, given it listed the year Tasker was born as 1986, rather than 1962.
"Damn, so sorry you have to deal with this nonsense, and on Thanksgiving of all days," wrote one fan in response to Tasker's post, adding: "Hope you can enjoy the rest of your day with your family and forget about this."
Another joked: "Considering you've aged 62 years in only 39, that's good to know." A third said: "Glad to hear you're still on the right side of the dirt."

A fourth wrote: "They had you born in 1986 .... a year after your NFL career began." And a fifth said: "Welcome back Steve!"
During his impressive career, Tasker was a five-time All-Pro, starring predominantly on special teams for Buffalo. He was also part of the Bills team that went to four back-to-back Super Bowls in the early 1990s. However, unfortunately for Tasker and the Bills, Buffalo lost all four of their Super Bowl appearances.
