Nuno Espirito Santo says his injured duo of Crysencio Summerville and Konstantinos Mavropanos will be assessed on Saturday to determine whether they will be fit to face Liverpool this Sunday.
The central defender and winger both missed West Ham's 2-2 draw at Bournemouth last weekend and are touch and go for this weekend's Premier League meeting, according to the boss who was addressing the media this lunchtime.
"Both of them are getting better, so we'll assess tomorrow," said Santo, when asked to confirm the position of both.
All of which means Ollie Scarles (broken collarbone) could be the only absentee when the reigning champions visit Stratford seeking to address their own recent run of poor form, which has seen Liverpool lose NINE of their last 12 outings in all competitions and left them 12th in the Premier League.
On the challenge that faces his team in east London on Sunday, Santo admitted that despite Liverpool's poor form he still expects an incredibly difficult afternoon.
"In football it matters what you do on the day," said the Hammers boss. "What we expect is to face the Premier League champions and players who are talented and capable of doing good things. We have to be ready."
