Dominik Szoboszlai has been urged to consider a move away from Liverpool as their crisis deepens.
That’s according to Péter Halmosi, speaking to Blikk. The former Premier League midfielder and Hungary international believes Szoboszlai needs to consider his future at Anfield after Liverpool’s loss to PSV Eindhoven this week.
That 4-1 defeat to the Dutch side made it nine losses in the last 12 for the Reds. It was also a third straight defeat by a three-goal margin.
The pressure is mounting, with Arne Slot now firmly fighting for his job. Some Liverpool fans are already calling for him to be replaced. The focus is also on the players in the squad. Fortunately for Szoboszlai, he’s safe at this moment in time.
The Hungarian midfielder has arguably been Liverpool’s best player so far this season. That’s despite playing in a variety of positions, from right back to central midfield.
That has not gone unnoticed. Recent reports have indicated that Real Madrid are seriously interested in signing the 25-year-old in the near future. Hungarian newspaper Blikk state he’s ‘high on the Blancos’ wish list’ at this moment in time.

Blikk are full of praise for the midfielder, saying that he ‘played with his usual energy’ despite the loss to PSV. And that, for them, is raises the question of whether he should leave in January. They put that question to Halmosi, who believes the Liverpool man should consider it.
“I don’t think he should leave right away,” he said.
“Of course, who wouldn’t want to play for Real Madrid? It would be a step up, but if there is no offer of this calibre, I don’t think it should be considered.
“If Real wants him, that offer should be accepted, at least I would definitely do so. Not because of Liverpool’s poor performance, but because Madrid is the highest level, that’s the top.
“As for Liverpool’s weakness, I don’t think there is any drama yet, every big team has ups and downs. They can still get to one of the Champions League places.”
