Huge goalkeeper call made - Our predicted starting XI as Newcastle United take on Everton

**All eyes will be on that first line on Eddie Howe's team sheet on Saturday when the teams are announced ahead of Newcastle United's clash with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Kick-off is at 5:30pm live on Sky Sports.**

There's huge pressure on Eddie Howe to drop Nick Pope after a series of clangers, but the Newcastle boss sounded pretty defiant in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Away from the goalkeeper situation, there are a few calls Eddie Howe needs to make. Does Harvey Barnes keep his place after his run of form now that Anthony Gordon is fit again?

Who will start at full-back, and with Sven Botman carrying a knock, how will the back four look? Here are our thoughts on how we think Eddie Howe will set up his side on Saturday.

Several changes, but hear us out

### Goalkeeper

**Nick Pope** \- That's right. We think Howe is going to bottle it. We want Aaron Ramsey to start, but we just don't see Eddie Howe doing it.

### Defenders

**Tino Livramento** - Emil Krafth and Kieran Trippier are injured, so Howe's options are limited. He may throw Jacob Murphy in here, though.

**Malick Thiaw** - Probably the first name on the team sheet right now.

**Dan Burn** - Eddie Howe likes his favourites, and we expect Lewis Hall to regain his left-back role, so with Sven Botman carrying a knock, Howe has the licence to play Burn.

**Lewis Hall** - This may be more wishful thinking than intuition, but if we're going to stand any chance we need Hall on the pitch.

### Midfielders

**Bruno Guimarães (c) -** El Capitán. Bruno will be part of the regular midfield.

**Sandro Tonali** \- The midfield maestro. As if you'd drop him if you didn't absolutely have to.

**Joelinton** - Almost went with Joe Willock here after Tuesday's showing, but we feel Howe will go with his regular trio.

### Forwards

**Harvey Barnes** - Once again, Howe likes his favourites, so he will want Anthony Gordon on the pitch, but he can't drop Barnes, so he'll stifle him by putting him on the wrong side of the pitch instead.

**Nick Woltemade** - We're still waiting on Yoane Wissa, and after being rested for most of Tuesday, the Big Man should be ready to go.

**Anthony Gordon** - He's fit, so Howe will start him even if it messes up our best goal threat right now in Harvey Barnes.

We've made some huge calls here when trying to predict how Eddie Howe will line up his side, and honestly, we've never wanted to get our prediction wrong as much in our time doing these.

In an ideal world, Aaron Ramsdale would start, as would Jacob Murphy on the right, with Barnes on the left and Gordon on the bench. We don't mind Dan Burn being back in his left centre-back role, so we hope we've got that one right.
