Liverpool travel to the London Stadium on Sunday looking to halt a dismal run of form that has seen Arne Slot’s side lose six of their last seven Premier League matches.

The defending champions sit 12th in the table.

11 points adrift of leaders Arsenal, after suffering three consecutive defeats by three-goal margins, including a humiliating 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield in midweek.

West Ham, meanwhile, are riding an upturn under Nuno Espírito Santo.

The Hammers have collected seven points from their last three league outings and won back-to-back home games against Newcastle and Burnley, climbing out of the relegation zone into 17th.

West Ham have seen defender Konstantinos Mavropanos miss the last month of action due to a thigh injury while winger Crysenico Summerville has also been battling with a calf issue,

However, Nuno Espirito Santo has suggested that both players could make a return on Sunday should they pass their fitness tests on Saturday:

Both of them (Summerville and Mavropanos) are getting better,” Nuno said during his pre-match press conference.

“We still have tomorrow to assess the players, so we will have to wait until then to make our final decisions.

The West Ham boss added on facing Liverpool in their current form:

“Liverpool is a good team. In football, what matters is what you do on match day.”

“What we expect is to face the league champions, a team packed with talented players. We’ll prepare for them.”

Meanwhile for Liverpool, there is also hope that Florian Wirtz is able to feature and faces a late fitness test after returning from Germany duty with a muscle issue.

Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley remain sidelined, leaving Slot short of options at right-back. Hugo Ekitike is managing a back issue.
