Arne Slot faces a battle to save his Liverpool future in coming weeks as the defending Premier League champions edge towards crisis mode.
Slot's team have lost nine of their last 12 games played across all competitions — with just one win in seven in league action — a streak of results as their worst run in 71 years.
A 4-1 home defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League is the latest setback for Slot just six months on from being crowned as English champions at the end of his sensational debut campaign at Anfield.
Liverpool fans voted with their feet in the closing stages against PSV as speculation mounts over what the upcoming weeks hold for the Dutch coach.
Slot offers update on Liverpool talks
Ahead of a huge trip to West Ham United on November 30, Slot admitted he struggled to sleep after the PSV loss and confirmed talks with the club hierarchy did take place at full-time.
"How do you think I slept? Not the best. But, I didn't lie awake all night, as even if we win I don't sleep well with adrenaline," he stated.
"I had the same conversations [with the owners] we've had since I got here. We fight on. We try to improve, but the conversations have been the same as they've been for the last one and a half years."

Club legends Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher both added their voice to the growing debate over what happens next for Slot — as the former claimed the club are 'not yet in crisis'—and Carragher offered support by stating he 'wasn't quite there yet' on the idea of sacking Slot.
As the exit rumours continue, supporters are already speculating over who could step in, and iconic boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a stunning comeback.
Klopp famously backed Slot, as he replaced the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss in 2024, but with his contract as the Head of Global Football with Red Bull until 2029, there is unlikely to be a change on that front at this stage.

Arne Slot is under pressure at Anfield after a nightmare run of results
Two Premier League names in the frame appear to be Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola and Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner, with the pair both out of contract at the end of 2025/26.
The pair have unbroken records of not leaving clubs mid-season, despite Iraola being linked with the Leeds United job back in February 2023, and reports from Glasner's native Austria claim he should get ready to talk to Liverpool.

As per Sky Sports Austria's senior journalist Marc Janko, Glasner should prepare for a call from Anfield, as a plan is put in place to lure him to Merseyside.
"Perhaps Oliver Glasner should turn on his phone. Because I imagine he may receive a call soon."
Convincing either Glasner - who has been described as 'world-class' - or Iraola to break their contracts could be tricky for Liverpool, alongside a likely compensation payout, with relations between the Reds and Palace already strained after the Marc Guehi transfer debacle from August.
