Toni Kroos thinks the best manager of all-time was once at Everton

Everton have finally found some stability with David Moyes back in the dugout and The Friedkin Group holding the keys to the club.

The Toffees are pushing for a spot in the top half of the table this weekend when Newcastle United visit Merseyside.

Moyes has been able to guide Everton to two consecutive Premier League victories and clean sheets.

Ahead of the game on Saturday, Eddie Howe has waxed lyrical about Moyes and the job he has been able to do back at Everton.

It has been a merry-go-round of managers over recent years on Merseyside prior to the arrival of the Friedkins last year.

And there is one former Everton manager who Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos thinks is the best to ever do it.

Toni Kroos thinks one former Everton manager is the best-ever

Recently, former Galactico Roberto Carlos admitted that he almost signed for Everton back in 2007.

A number of former Madrid players have worn the famous Everton shirt and manager Carlo Ancelotti managed both sides.

Speaking to The Icon League, when asked who the best manager ever is, Kroos very simply replied by saying Ancelotti.

Ancelotti enjoyed his time at Everton, but he did admit that he had to leave for Madrid when they made the phone call.

Having a manager of Ancelotti’s calibre on Merseyside was something special and he has remained in touch with the club ever since.

During the stadium transition, Ancelotti made a Hill Dickinson Stadium request for the fans to carry over their atmosphere from Goodison Park.

With Everton targeting a spot in Europe over the coming years, perhaps the two’s paths may cross again if Ancelotti returns to club management.

Everton want to return to Europe’s top table

Neither Ancelotti nor Kroos remain in the Spanish capital, but playing teams like Real Madrid is exactly where fans will want to see the club over the near future.

Moyes wants to push Everton into the European spots this season, but the top four may be a stretch too far.

If results go in their favour this weekend, Everton could well find themselves occupying one of those European places.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium deserves games like Everton against Real Madrid in a competitive game.

Everton will host the 2028 Euros and a number of other elite tournaments.

However, the aim will be to get Everton’s senior side playing important games under the lights on the docks.
