Arne Slot is coming under increasing pressure after Liverpool’s alarming dip in form, with the Reds losing an astonishing nine of their last 12 matches in all competitions.

A 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend was followed by a humbling 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

These two results have pushed fans’ patience to the limit as the Premier League champions continue to resemble a shadow of the team that lifted the title six months ago.

Slot revealed that discussions with the club’s owners after the PSV defeat were no different from the conversations he has had since arriving at Anfield.

He stressed that the club will “fight on” despite the mounting scrutiny and growing concerns around their trajectory.

Asked whether he had spoken to sporting director Richard Hughes or the ownership group after the game, Slot said: “We’ve had the same conversations that we’ve had since I got here.

“We fight on. We try to improve, but the conversations have been the same as they have been for the last one and a half years.”

Several managers have already been linked with the Liverpool job as pressure continues to mount on Arne Slot.

One name attracting growing interest is Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who has just over six months remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.

The Austrian has impressed during his time in south London, guiding Palace to FA Cup glory last season and positioning them for another solid campaign despite the exit of Eberechi Eze.

Sky Sports Austria have added further intrigue to the situation, with senior journalist Marc Janko suggesting that Glasner could soon receive a call from Liverpool.

“Perhaps Oliver Glasner should turn on his phone,” said Janko.

“Because I imagine he may receive a call soon.”
