Man City looking to pip Liverpool to two transfer targets in $190M double swoop

Manchester City is considering swooping for two of the players who have lit up the Premier League during the opening months of the season.

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo and Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson have both had great starts to the campaign, catching the attention of some of England's biggest clubs.

Semenyo and Anderson have been linked with Liverpool, but the Daily Mail is reporting that City could make a play to sign both men in 2026. City is said to be prioritizing the addition of a wide player during the January transfer window, before moving for a central midfielder in the summer.

Forest could sell Anderson next summer if it receives a substantial bid for the 23-year-old midfielder, with suggestions that offers of around $130 million could be forthcoming.

Anderson has emerged as an important player for England under Thomas Tuchel, playing in each of the Three Lions' last six games.

Speaking about Anderson after the November international break, Tuchel said: "Anderson is a key player for us at the moment. He is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League - that's why he is with us and starting for us.

"He deserves it because he has been nothing but impressive. He has to keep on going now though. He is a very complete and mobile midfielder, and that's what he keeps showing me.

"He is an elite player with the right attitude and a lot of talent. He is fulfilling his role in the best way possible so we are very happy with him."

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding the future of Semenyo is intensifying ahead of the January window after it emerged that there is a buyout clause in his Bournemouth contract, which could see him make a midseason move to a new club.

Semenyo only signed a new contract in July, but in order to convince the player to do that, Bournemouth agreed to include a release clause in the deal.

Bournemouth hopes to keep hold of Semenyo until the end of the campaign, but the Cherries may be powerless to do so if a top club comes in and triggers his £65 million ($86 million) release clause.

Semenyo has only boosted his reputation since signing that new deal, having registered six goals and three assists in the league since the start of the season.
