Eddie Howe had his say on the preparation from Newcastle United for the weekend.
The Toon suffered a 2-1 defeat to **Marseille**in midweek, sacrificing an early lead through a goal from in-form Harvey Barnes to walk away emptyhanded after a Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang brace.
Newcastle had beaten **Man City**2-1 at St. James’ Park, showing their strength when they have the backing of the Geordies behind him and are able to play in transitional phases with their pace, power, directness and physicality. But a trip to **Everton**on Saturday will present a different challenge.
Away days have not brought the best out of Howe’s men, who will face a well-drilled collective that won 1-0 at **Old Trafford**with ten players on the pitch on Monday.
“Nothing major from the game [in Marseille], we will look at the lads today.
“Sven Botman* has been nursing a back problem the last few days. Kieran Trippier had a scan on his hamstring, we think it is roughly around a month, give or take. That is the diagnosis. Emil Krafth came back from international duty with a knee issue, but he will be good.”*
“Yoane Wissa* is doing well. He trained with his for the first time on Wednesday. I was really pleased that is his first time competitively. We will see how it looks. We have one (a comeback) date in mind, but it is probably best to keep it to ourselves.*
"Obviously fatigue is the big one. Not always physical fatigue, sometimes it's mental fatigue. It can feel you are always preparing for a game which can bring different challenges. We are trying to keep things fresh."
“*David Moyes**is a manager I respect. Huge amount of respect for him and the way he handles himself. He has done an unbelievable job at Everton.*
“They are playing well too and have some dangerous players, especially in the wide areas."
