Newcastle United’s latest attempt to sort out their away form comes against Everton on Saturday.
The Magpies have not won in the Premier League away from home all season, while they have now lost four consecutive away games in all competitions.
Newcastle lost to Marseille at the Stade Velodrome on Tuesday night, despite taking the lead through Harvey Barnes. It was the third away game in a row that Eddie Howe’s side have thrown away a lead, showing real fragility when they are not at St James’ Park.
There needs to be a response against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but will Newcastle finally deliver on the road? The Geordie Boot Boys team give their verdict.
The green kit looks set to return on Saturday at Everton. Do you genuinely believe it is cursed?
Harvey Barnes to shine again for Newcastle United – James Rutherford
Newcastle United simply cannot go into the Tyne-Wear derby at the Stadium of Light without an away win in the Premier League. This really is a must-win game for Eddie Howe, who has plenty of selection dilemmas to ponder.
But with Harvey Barnes in great form and Anthony Gordon keen to prove a point against his former side, I am backing the Magpies to win against Everton. I was optimistic going into the Manchester City game last week, and I am going to stick with that optimism despite the Champions League loss to Marseille.
Prediction: Everton 0 Newcastle United 2.

Newcastle United to win tight affair – Jakob Barnes
Both teams have struggled in front of goal this season, with 13 goals apiece. Only two teams have scored less and I don’t expect this to be much of a goal-fest.

Still, Newcastle fans would probably take a boring but efficient win here, and the Magpies’ defenders should have enough to shut out the flailing Everton forwards.
The odd goal will decide this, and Newcastle will find it, as long as Eddie Howe lines up with a more positive formation and throws caution to the wind.
Prediction: Everton 0 Newcastle United 1.

Another Newcastle United away defeat feels likely – Jonathan Gorrie
Newcastle need to win here but, sadly, it just doesn’t look likely.
Are Everton perfect? No, but they are much more coherent than this Newcastle side tend to be when they play away from St James’ Park.
Newcastle will probably start well, perhaps score a goal, and then sit back and use the excuse that they’re tired from their midweek game. We’ve seen it all before.
