Manchester City host Leeds United on Saturday afternoon seeking to get back to winning ways

Manchester City have the chance to bring a stop to their two-game losing run when they host Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side went into the international break on a high with a convincing 3-0 win over Liverpool but have returned to action with defeats to Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United side currently sit inside the bottom three after a run of three-straight defeats. They were beaten away at Brighton and Nottingham Forest before the international break before losing to Aston Villa last week. Against Forest and Villa they took the lead but lost both matches.

“I have an incredible opinion of Daniel [Farke],” said Guardiola on Friday.

“I have a really good relationship with him and I know the Premier League is always like that with good runs and results and bad results because opponents are tough and have long weeks to prepare. So demanding. We have to be ready.”

Man City v Leeds United team news

Man City will remain without Rodri for the fixture.

“Not yet. Not much further,” said Guardiola when asked about the Spaniard. Mateo Kovacic remains the only long-term absentee for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Leeds will be without midfielder Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach. Manager Farke said: “Sadly, Sean will miss the game - he is out with a calf injury. He is expected to be out four to six weeks, so we will miss him for a while. It's, of course, not ideal.”

He added: “Anton will definitely miss the Man City game due to the concussion protocol. If everything works, he will be allowed to return to training on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, Sebastiaan Bornauw is a doubt due to a knee problem and a late call will be made over his involvement on Saturday.
