‘Clearly inadequate’–Arsenal loan player needs to step up…starting now

Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira has been told he need to step up, starting now, and prove his worth at loan club HSV Hamburg.

[BILD cover him today](https://www.bild.de/) and say Vieira will under scrutiny today anyway. That’s because Stuttgart are in town, and they wanted to sign him from Arsenal in the summer as well.

In fact, they pursued him for months, with Fenerbahce and West Ham also in the mix. Instead, he ended up as HSV on deadline day. That was partly because Stuttgart signed Bilal El Khannouss. That’s a deal they don’t regret.

He’s been a star player for them since arriving, with five goals and four assists to date. The Arsenal man is ‘still far from that level’ at HSV. He’s managed one assist so far, but two red cards. That, say BILD, is ‘clearly inadequate’.

Now would be a good time for them to be added to. Particularly as he is set to be moved back into a move favoured central midfield role after disappointing on the right-wing last time out.

Hamburg had been expecting more from the Arsenal man, and now they want him to deliver on it against a team who were also interested in his signature not long ago.
