There has been a lot of noise and drama around Celtic this season, mainly off the field, given the relationship between the fans and the board.
It can’t be denied that it has affected Celtic’s on-field performances, mainly under Brendan Rodgers, as Martin O’Neill has now steadied the ship during his interim spell.
But the champions of Scotland aren’t the only ones making the headlines every week, because Liverpool and Manchester United also face that level of scrutiny.
However, Charlie Mulgrew feels there is a difference between what the Liverpool and Manchester United players go through every week compared to those in the famous green and white colours.

Celtic pressure compared to Liverpool and Manchester United
Mulgrew came through the ranks at Celtic in 2005, but after a few spells away from his boyhood club, he would then represent the Hoops in 2010 for six years.
So, he understands what it takes to put on that shirt and having to produce trophy after trophy, no matter what is going on around him.
Mulgrew feels that the pressures Celtic players face are far greater than what the Liverpool and Manchester United players go through.
The former Scotland defender pointed towards how it’s ‘more about mentality’ than what you can do with the ball at your feet.

Do Celtic players have to deal with more pressure than Liverpool and Manchester United?
Charlie Mulgrew: “No matter what club you have been at. I don’t think you would have ever felt that level of pressure (than at Celtic). Even Manchester United and Liverpool down south.”
“To play for Celtic and Rangers, it’s less about ability and more about mentality,” Mulgrew told Go Radio. “How can you step up every week and deal with that pressure of having to win every single week. A draw is a disaster.
“No matter what club you have been at. I don’t think you would have ever felt that level of pressure. Even Manchester United and Liverpool down south. They don’t feel that pressure every week; a result away from home isn’t enough.
“At Celtic and Rangers, you need to have that mentality. If not, you will see it. When you are at home, and you are nil-nil after 15 minutes. You receive the ball and play it sideways. There are groans and moans.
“You need to be able to take the ball and move forward. Embrace the challenge of playing with teams that it’s their cup final every single week, and that’s what you will be judged on.”
